Layflat Binding

Layflat binding is an alternative to paperback limpbound books.  The signatures are sewn just like in limpound, but unlike limpbound the cover is not glued along the spine.

Both are equally strong and stand the test of many uses!  Layflat binding allows the pages to lay flatter. The cost is higher than normal limpbound.

Since the book block is not glued along the spine, the cover is held in place with additional glue along the front and back of the cover. Please keep this in mind when designing the first and last page of your book block – 3/8” of the page will be used for glue.
